Up, Up, and Away!

Hey yall,
Just an update, Amador and I have been doing so well since we moved to Mills! I'd forgotten what it was like to have a family, and how nice it is to have someone to ride with! lol I am so happy there! Amador and I have been working on becoming real true jumpers! We are planning on doing some steaks and some jumper classes on the A curcuit which means I am having to brush up on my braiding skills! lol I am getting pretty good though, Robbie would be so proud! Also if we want to really compete in jumpers we have to be able to jump width aswell as height. So we have been working on it, and the other day in our lesson we jumped a 2'6" high 3'9" wide oxar! It was really great, and such a rush. We tried to take a picture but we were riding in the dark with the lights on so it didn't really turn out unfortunately. The oxar was so wide that Gia could walk Skittles right through the middle of it! lol I hope I can post some pictures of us jumping soon, and I know you are all waiting to see our nameplate! I promise I'm going to put it on ASAP!
Love,
Paula

P.S. My pics from halloween of us as a bathtub have all dissapeared if anyone has any they wouldn't mind sharing I would so totally appreciate it if you let me know!

Mills Here We Come!

Hey yall,
I'm so sorry I haven't posted in so long! I have so much to tell everyone! As most of you know I fell off a friend's pony almost a month ago and broke my arm and wrist. I couldn't ride so I just spent alot of time playing with Amador on the ground and lungeing him alot! lol This also resulted in me spending alot of time at Mills Farm where my trainer Holly, and all the girls are. I love it out there so much! It is so good seeing my barn family regularly again! lol Well today I got a new short cast, and an okay from my doctor to ride, so I went out to Holly's and had a lesson on Riley (one of her lesson horses). It went really well and Holly said I did suprisingly well for someone who hadn't ridden in so long. But my leg was still a bit weak over fences so we decided that it would be good for me to ride her horses a few more times before I jump Amador again. But my lesson wasn't the best part of my night! Like I said earlier in my post I have been spending alot of time at Mills. When I got out there today Kj (one of the awesome guys that works there) came up to me and told me he had something to show me! So he took me into the boarder barn where we had talked about Amador going and showed me that Victor (another one of the awesome guys that works there) had painted Amador's name on the name plate above the stall. It looks so great! It says Amador and it has a little cupid up in the corner, since amador means lover in spanish. They even took time to paint red swirls onto my new racks on the outside of my stall. I'm so excited to move Amador so we can be with all our old friends. However I will miss Hampton Road Stable so much, and I definately have every intention of going back to visit! My dad and I are going to move Ami on Friday, and I will be sure to take lots of pictures of him at his new home, and of his awesome name plate!
Love,
Paula

P.S. Thank you to everyone who has been so amazing in helping me get through not being able to ride, and helping me realize it wasn't the end of the world! lol

Pinto Show

Hey Yall
Last weekend we loaded up and went to Mullet Hall Equestrian Center for the monthly Pinto show. We showed in the 2'9'' 15- Adult Equitation division and the costume class on Saturday and the Equitation and 3ft division Sunday. We did really well and took most original for our costume! We were a bathtub and Amador was super patient and calm. Saturday it rained and the ring was really muddy so we weren't going to ride but we got him out just to see what he would do and he was awesome, so our trainer gave us the right of way to compete and we did really well! I will have pictures up soon of us as a bathtub!

State Fair

Here are some of the pics from a couple weekends ago at the state fair!

Hey yall! My name is Paula and my horse's name is Amador. He is a twelve year-old holsteiner gelding and we have been together for five months now. For those of you who were readers of our last blog that followed my friends and I, I'm glad yall are still interested. We were so sorry to leave each other but at the end of the day we all did what was best for us and our horses. I moved to Hampton Road Stables, and it's so beautiful out there, and Amador is so happy! I'm going to post pictures of him there asap! I am still training with Holly, and Amador and I travel over to her new farm quite frequently, but normally she comes to us on Tuesdays and gives us a lesson.

Amador at Hampton

We just got back from the SC State Fair where we did well. I'm going to post pics of that as soon as I get them from our amazing photo taker Amelia, tomorrow! I saw them today though and there are some really amazing ones of us over fences as well as a few great candids! We competed in the 2'3'' and 2'6'' divisions, as well as equitation and a hunter hack.

We are working really hard to get ready for the show this weekend at Mullet Hall. We are going to compete in the 2'9'' 15-Adult equitation as well as the working hunter 3ft. Also we are going to compete in the Halloween costume contest and I will post pics as soon as it's over, all I can say is our costume is awesome and super crazy! In addition to all this Amador is going to make his debut in the lead line class ridden by Holly's daughter Kenzie.

We are facing a minor setback in all our preparations though. Last Monday I sat on an old chair at my house and it completely collapsed! lol I thought I was fine until my hand started hurting really bad. I worked through it all last weekend despite the fact we all thought it was broken. So today my mom decided that I really needed to go get it looked at and get some xrays taken, just to stay on the safe side. So we went to the doctor and took care of all that and thank goodness it's not broken! I do have to be really careful when I ride and I can't ride unless it's Amador in preparation for the show this weekend.
